Front End Development & UX Design

During my year of employment with English Heritage, I was involved in the design, front end development and maintenance of the English Website. Among my tasks was the design and development of calendars which are still in use today

This task was one of many completed during my time with English Heritage.
One of my responsibilities was to create an events calendar module for the English Heritage website. The module needed to display a calendar with upcoming events, exclude past events, and provide a modal for users to learn more about specific events.
I started by designing the module using an Adobe Photoshop wireframe. Once the design was approved, I developed it using HTML, SASS, and jQuery to handle the various scenarios required for the website.
After completing the front-end development, I collaborated with a Back-End Developer to integrate the module into the .NET CMS. We worked closely to ensure everything functioned correctly before it was passed to a QA tester and deployed on the live site.
The final product allowed the content team to easily add images and content to specific dates. When an event date was clicked, the associated image would display as the background, and the event details would appear in a modal. After the event date passed, the date became unclickable, with the image replaced by a standard color.
